Welcome to Inspired By Challenge #IB411! 🎃🍂

This week we’re inspired by Pumpkins — but not your typical bright orange ones! I love the softer, almost vintage feel of this inspiration.

You could be inspired by the pumpkins, florals, fall leaves, candles, or the beautiful combination of soft sage, peach and warm rust. I especially love the idea of using a floral pattern where you might normally reach for a traditional fall print.

The sketch gives you three overlapping panels, which could become patterned papers, stamped panels, die cuts or even three different fall images.

As always, take whatever inspires you —the photo, colours, sketch, theme or just one small detail— and make it your own!

Hello it’s Amy @craftee1. My project was inspired by the newest Inspired by Challenge: Fall Mugs

For today’s card was inspired by the theme and colors.

I combined the following products:

• Hero Arts – Tiny Library | Die Set – August My Monthly Super Hero*
• Hero Arts – Bring Coffee | stamp set
• Newton’s Nook Designs – Coffee Silhouettes | die

*This is a subscription. The kit isn’t guaranteed to drop in the Hero Arts store. It isn’t there now but if you follow me on instagram, I’ll try to do a IGS or repost this card if/when it becomes available.

The pattern paper has been floating around on my desk from the October Afternoon – The Thrift Shop paper pad.

I actually mini a mini overhaul of this card:

After I took photos I decided the mugs were not the right colors so I changed them out so they would actually tie into the challenge color palette. What a big difference. I also decided that the background paper was too busy but decided to keep it on there before destroying the card. I do like how it ties into the book theme.

I had momentarily lost the August My Monthly Super Hero Kit on my desk..LOL. Yes, it’s true – send help.

Hello everyone Von Marie here and I’m so excited for the Newest challenge here on the Inspired By…Blog. Fall Mugs #IB410 is the theme and we have a fun colors and lots of inspiration from the inspiration photo.

Let’s get started:

I was inspired by the theme Coffee Mugs and the colors.  I made a simple card. I used a Pretty Pink Winter Mug Dies set and ran the mug die through my die-cutting machine with white cardstock. I then ink blended it with Walnut Stain Distress ink, Rusty Hindge Distress Oxide ink, and Tea Dye Distress ink. This set has a leaf so I ran that through my die-cutting machine too with white cardstock. I ink blended the leaf with Peeled Paint distress ink. I was harsh on the coffee portion of the mug I was going for realistic. I would love a coffee right now!

I had some digital pattern paper printed in my stash and to me it looked like some of the colors from the inspiration photo. I popped up my mug with fun foam and applied it to my pattern paper. Sentiment strip was from my stash and popped it up with a foam strip. I added a few brown sequins and that finishes this card.

I had a lot of fun and frustration with this week’s Inspired By theme, FALL MUGS. The inspiration photo really captured my interest with the warm colors and those fun mugs. I was particularly focused on the owl and fox mug and put my thinking cap on. I was initially going in another direction and then I remembered the adorable Sweater Weather set from MFT Stamps designed by the talented Birdie Brown.

So here’s where the frustration comes in. I decided it would be fun to pair these cute images with the coffee cups from an older Hero Arts club kit from 2018. I didn’t want the look of cut out images so I decided to apply my “not-so-great” masking skills. It took four attempts to finally get it right and I confess I had to walk away a few times.

Here’s the fun part. I decided to try to salvage the three previous mishaps with some creative die cut cover ups. The results were pretty cute, in my opinion, and I ended up with a total of four fun cards to send to my sisters.

I used Distress Inks to watercolor on watercolor cardstock and then bit of Prismacolor colored pencils to added shading, mostly on the first card and a little on the others.

I loved the cozy but moody shelves in this week’s challenge photo! The darker colors and fun fall items tucked inside…especially the pumpkins!

I chose to make a background with The Greetery’s “Diamond Foliage” stencils and dies. The embossed squares on the stenciled background slid a bit in my die cut machine…more moodiness! So I layered a double set of leafy lattice pieces to mask my mistakes a bit!

Then it was time for pumpkins from “Bigger Autumn Botanicals,” as well as some “Mums” from that series of dies. A big “Let’s Have a Word: Autumn” along with a sentiment from “Simple Autumn Sentiments” to add to the warm feel.

We can’t wait to see what mood your project brings to the gallery this week!

A little gratitude, served warm and cozy! This week’s challenge, Fall Mugs, had me reaching for a mug of the paper variety.

You know I love a shaped card! A warm kraft-colored base paired with cheerful floral paper gives this mug a cozy feel, while the petal shaped cutouts let those sunny blooms peek though. A little sunflower and a simple “Thanks” finish off this cup of happy!

Hey everyone, I am here to share my take on this week’s inspiration. So many ideas I had with this one because there are so many fun elements in the photo! I decided to go with the fall theme, the coffee and an animal.

If this image looks familiar, yes I did use this stamp last week too. It is just so darn cute! It is from the Mice & Cozy stamp set from Unity, which is on sale right now!

For the coffee cup die cut I used an old CTMH die – it is actually to make a shaped card, but it was the perfect size to allow the stamp to fit on the coffee sleeve. I used the Feels Like Fall collection from Echo Park once again too.

You could be inspired by the mugs, pumpkins, leaves, owl, fox, plaid, or the gorgeous earthy palette of cream, taupe, rust and warm brown. There are so many little details in the inspiration photo that could spark a card idea.

The sketch gives you four horizontal panels to play with — perfect for patterned papers, sentiments, repeated images, or even four different fall elements.As always, you can use as much or as little of the inspiration as you like. The photo, the colours, the sketch, or just one little detail — make it your own!

For today’s card was inspired by the theme and sketch.

I combined the following Brass & Bliss Craft Co products:

• Fall Leaves | die
• Thankful for You | stamp

The sentiment was stamped in Pecan from the Color Fuse #3 set.

The leaves have been cut from the much hoarded October Afternoon paper pads:

• Fly a Kite
• Thrift Shop

I picked up a baggie of button from a garage sale and used some on the wreath. They’re actually on foam dimensionals so this is NOT postal friendly.
