This week’s “Vintage Display” seemed to have all of my favorite things in it…gingham, tin picnic baskets, strawberries, old dishes, and kitchen gadgets! I loved the soft green and red color scheme, too. I used Papertrey Ink’s amazing “Mom’s Kitchen” stamp and die set to create a charming vintage scene of my own!

I added some strawberry print “wallpaper” for the background from Carta Bella’s “Summer” paper collection. The birthday sentiment was created using the teapot from the “Mom’s Kitchen” stencil set with sentiments from “Seasoned With Love” and “Ways to Say: Happy Birthday” stamped over the top.

One summer afternoon, I got lost in the fun of stamping and die cutting all of the mini items to create my scene…the mug rack, the shelf, drawers, sparkling “marble” countertop, vase, jelly jar, and my favorites, the Bundt cake and the hen decor piece! No sweet detail is left out of this set of products! It was like playing with paper dolls or my dollhouse on a rainy afternoon in the 70’s!

The minute I saw this week’s Inspired By photo, I was completely drawn to all of the sweet vintage kitchen details. Wouldn’t that be an amazing kitchen to have? The mix of cheerful colors, old fashioned container, gingham and collected treasures gave me this inspriation to create this box card from Lori Whitlock with it’s own tiny retro kitchen scene.

I love challenges like this because the finished project doesn’t have to look exactly like the inspiration. Sometimes it’s simply a color, a feelling, or one tiny detail that gets the creativity going. One part vintage, one part crafty and a whole lote of cute.

Hey everyone, happy Friday. This week’s inspiration just gives me all the feels. Who else just loves vintage and the stories that are behind the items?

I was inspired by the theme, the colors, the gingham and sketch (I guess pretty much everything) for my card. I pulled out the Strawberry Fields collection from Echo Park.

To tell the truth, I attempted some die cut strawberries using my Silhouette but lately I fight more with it than use it and for this card I fought more with it and thus decided to do my tried and true… fussy cutting LOL.

I actually was able to use some of my scraps on this card which always makes me happy. I added stitching and scallops to carry out the homespun feel. I left the bottom with no sentiment as I thought it could be added later – either teacher, mom, friend… when I decide to use the card.

I fussy cut the strawberries from pattern paper and then mounted on foam squares.

Hi, it’s @craftee1 Amy with my card that was inspired by the current challenge: Ice Cream Cones.

I combined the following goodies:

🍦 Pretty Pink Posh – Sentiment Strips, Summer | stamp

I had so much fun putting this one together. Of course, I had to add the little fruit! Can you guess the ice cream flavors?

YES, those sweet cones can dance! ‎‧₊˚✧🪩✧˚₊‧

We’re going old school interactive with this design. Do you all still have those self-adhesive foam circles that are like 1 inch tall?

Yeah, same. 😂

Turns out they’re PERFECT for making these cones dance!

Also, did I tell you I got a soft serve machine for my birthday?! Eeeep! I’m hoping to dive into that this weekend.

Now I need to know…

Hello everyone.  Von Marie here today and I’m so excited for the Inspired By Blog Challenge this week. Ice Cream Cones #IB403 is the theme and the colors and card sketch are so much fun. 

Let’s Get Started:

I was so excited to use this Ice Cream set I had ordered months ago from Scrapbook.com called Handful of Sweetness. I was inspired by the colors, theme, and Card sketch.

Since this set I used doesn’t have a cone per say it does have a cone die to add it to your ice cream scoop.So I made a waffle cone cup. I cut out 5-6 of those using the waffle die on white cardstock and ink blended with Walnut Stain Distress ink. I cut out 3 scoops for the 3 colors on the Inspiration photo. I also cut out a cup and die-cut for the top of the cup All cut out with white cardstock. I ink blended the scoops with Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink, Picked Raspberry Distress ink, and Salty Ocean Distress ink. The cup was ink blended with Antique Linen Distress ink. Lid die-cut was inked with Picked Raspberry Distress ink .

I used the coordinating Pattern Paper Pad Sugar Rush 4.25 x 5.5. It has solids too. So good. I cut 3 strips approx. 1/4 and a A2 pattern paper panel out. I glued everything to a A2 pink card base and cut out a scalloped circle from purple pattern paper using the Handful of Sweetness Die set. The “yum” word die was cut out with white cardstock. Sentiment was inked with VersaFine Clair Baby Pink ink using Sugar Rush Stamp and Dies set. I layered it on an extra die-cut. That finishes my card. I had so much fun making this card.

This week’s challenge #IB403 is so incredibly sweet! Ice Cream Cones is the theme and the colors in the inspiration photo are so bright and cheerful.

I don’t know about you, but I’m crazy about ice cream. I can’t keep it in my house because I’m too tempted by it. However, occasionally by husband and I will dash to Handel’s for a scoop. He is very particular and usually chooses the same few flavors. I love ALL ice cream and can never decide if I want to go with something chocolate/caramel/coffee or something fruity/tropical. Mint Chocolate Chip is also never far from my mind. I recently tried black raspberry ice cream with chocolate truffle bits and I thought I went to heaven.

My card was obviously inspired by the ice cream cones, but also the colors and the sketch.

I used Papertrey Ink Sweet Americana Dies for the ice cream cones and dolloped them with whip cream from an older Spellbinders set called Have Your Cake. The lemon slice and strawberry are from this set as well but the blueberries are buds from a recent Papertrey Ink Into the Blooms set.

I used patterned paper scraps for all my pieces except the leaves and whipped cream. I kept the background very clean and used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the dots because it made me think of the pom poms in the inspiration photo. This card has a summer vibe but ice cream is an essential treat year round!

A few Halloween cards popped up last week, I am definitely ready to start creating fall and winter cards. But this lovely card has me enjoying my own flowers for a little longer

Ice cream cones, rainbow colors, and pom poms? Yes, please! This Inspired By photo is for the birthday party of my dreams! Being born in December, my cakes always seemed to have a little more red and green sneak in than rainbow bright colors, haha!

I used The Greetery’s “What’s the Scoop?” set along with items from the “Hey Honeycomb” suite of products including the “Basics” die set, “Summer” sentiments, “Ice Cream Cone” die set, and the “Tri-Color Tropics” honeycomb balls (with a teeny cherry red pom pom glued on top)!

I also used a “Double Z Fold” card-making technique by Susan Campfield on YouTube. It provided plenty of room for all of the details including many patterns and colors from this paper collection called “Sweet Summertime” from Simple Stories.
